Lovegra 100 is a tablet that contains 100mg of the active ingredient Sildenafil citrate. This drug is more commonly known as the “female Viagra” because it is specifically formulated as a sexual enhancer for women. Like any other Sildenafil tablet, it increases the blood flow to the vaginal area. According to studies, this increase in blood flow helps increase sexual desire by women during sexual activity. However, the mechanism of how it works explicitly is not yet fully established.
Ajanta Pharma manufactures Lovegra.
A starting dose of 50mg Lovegra (half tablet) taken orally about an hour before sexual activity is recommended.
Depending on efficacy and tolerability per individual, the dose may be adjusted, either decreased to 25mg or increased to 100mg. Consult a healthcare provider before making dose adjustments.
The maximum dose of Lovegra is 100mg per day. It is important to note to stay within the maximum daily dose. The effect will not increase if the amount is doubled.
Individuals allergic to Lovegra, its active ingredient Sildenafil and all its inactive ingredients must not take this medication.
Love is contraindicated for those with heart problems. This drug is also contraindicated to those taking nitrates in any form and those taking Riociguat, as it may increase the hypotensive effects and the risk of hypotension.
The common side effects of Lovegra usually occur in only 2% of individuals taking this medication. These are, but are not limited to, the following:
- Nasal congestion
- Flushing (redness, warmth)
- Urinary tract infection
- Respiratory tract infection
- Back pain or muscle pain
- Abnormal vision (blurred or change in colour vision)
Rare side effects that occur in less than 2% of individuals taking Lovegra include, but are not limited to:

- Digestive side effects like vomiting, colitis, dry mouth, gastritis

Seek immediate medical help if an allergic reaction to Lovegra occurs, characterised by difficulty breathing, hives, swelling of face, lips, tongue or throat.
Taking of Lovegra must be stopped, and seek medical attention right away if sudden vision loss in one or both eyes occurs. This may signify a non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION) associated with using PDE5 inhibitors such as Sildenafil.
This drug must also be stopped, and seek urgent medical help if sudden hearing loss or decrease in hearing occurs.
Side effects of this drug are not limited to the list above. Seek the advice of a healthcare provider for more information.
Warnings and Precautions
Individuals not advisable to perform sexual activity should not take Lovegra. Caution is advised to individuals taking antihypertensive drugs, such as alpha-blockers, for it may potentiate the hypotensive effects.
Love and Alcohol
Taking Lovegra with alcohol may cause undesirable effects as both can cause a lowering of blood pressure.
Love during Pregnancy and Nursing
